Audio Systems: turntables, 78 rpm records, line resource

Question
Hello,

I have a turntable that only plays 33 rpm and 45 rpm records, but i have got some 78 rpm records. Is there any way that I can play these records on my cuyrrent record player?

Answer
Dear Vik,

Sorry, turntables only play at the specified speeds. You'll need to get a turntable that can play at 78 rpm. The best on line resource I know for vinyl is www.needledoctor.com. They have a large selection of 78 rpm 'tables.

If there's a used hi-fi store near you, you might check it out. Occasionally, 78 'tables turn up in them, or the owners know where to find them.

Finally, make sure you use a cartridge specifically designed for 78 rpm records.

Kindest regards,

Kevin
