I need to know if i can hook up a stereo system to the stock radio in a 03 chevy impala. If so how?

By stereo system do you mean an MP3 or iPOD type player?

Go to www.installer.com or www.crutchfield.com for the proper converting box.  I think this one from peripheral will do the job:

But, there are so many "stock" radios in GM cars you must be really careful to get the right one.  At Crutchfield they have an "outfit your car" that will take you to the things you can add.

I am assuming you want rca level and rca plug or stereo phone compatibility.
