Audio Systems: No power, honda dealer, honda civic

Hello Tom. I'm trying to install a JVC AM/FM CD player into a 1999 honda civic. The factor wires were cut so I have to connect wire to wire. When I connected the 12v power, the ground and the ignition wire then turn the ignition on the blue display lights up for a few seconds and then it goes off. What is wrong?

The problem may be that one or more of the wires isn't connected correctly. You may want to stop by your local Honda dealer and ask the service dept for a print out of the wires for the stereo connector. This way you will be able to correctly connect the wires for the JVC stereo.
