Audio Systems: Chrysler Infinity wont work, 12 volt, chrysler town

Hello Tom,
I recently bought a 1996 Chrysler Town & Country LXI mini-van with the Inifinty Sound System.  The radio worked for a few days even though some of the buttons didnt work.  One day I started the vehicle and the radio unit wouldn't even turn on.  I can press the volume button and the time will show, but after about 4 seconds the screen is blank again.  The system has both the cassette and cd player in one.  I really liked the system for the few days it was working.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.-Thank you.

It's possible that the fuse for the 12 volt switched from the key has blown for some reason. The stereo has two 12 sources to it, 1-for clock and memory and 1-12 volt switched from the key. Try using a 12 volt test lamp and check for both 12 sources with the key turned on. If you have both 12 volt sources the stereo may need to be serviced.
