Audio Systems: 1998 lincoln town car stereo quit working, lincoln town car, cigarette lighter

cd cartridge in 12 disc changer locked up and will not eject or play cds.  All fuses have been checked and replaced.  The cigarette lighter was blown but fuse has been replaced and working now.  Can the changer have been placed in wrong and how do i get the cds to eject.  can i open the cd changer and repair this myself.  I do not want to take it to the factory.

The changer unit should have two 12volt sources, one 12 volts at all times and one switched with the key on. Use a 12 volt test lamp and check the 12 volt sources. If you have the two 12 volt sources and you press the eject button on the changer itself and the magazine won't eject, DON'T pry on the magazine or you will turn a possible simple repair into a major costly repair! These changers are quite complicated and they require experience to work on and repair. Please contact me by direct Email for more details.
