Audio Systems: Video to DVD/CD conversion hardware, sound and vision magazine, pc storage

Question
/1/ I'm looking for a machine to take a home video or anything showing on my TV and
convert it to a DVD or CD.
/2/ Then I want to copy from the CD directly into my PC storage.
I can do “/2/”; but need help with “/1/” to decide which, I guess “DVD player/recorder”, to buy.

Dear Bill,

I haven't done my "shopping" for DVD recorders yet, so I don't have any first hand experience to pass on. However, I've found that "Sound and Vision" magazine is pretty thorough in its coverage of available products. Search their web site: www.soundandvisionmag.com.
