Audio Systems: car radio / cd 6 cd changer in Mercedes Benz E300 1998, mercedes benz, new radio

Question
the AM radio in my MB E300 1998 doesn't work. FM works. If I put in a new radio with single CD in dash, can I use the changer in the trunk as well?
Can I repair the antenna so that the AM radio works?
Where is the antenna in this car?

Most of the adapters for cd changers allow you to integrate a new cd changer into factory equipment,  you want to go the other way around and I dont think they make that.
As for repairing the antenna, its probably the radio that's bad not the antenna.  I would put a new single disk in the dash and forget about the changer or buy a new one if you want.  I always wanted a changer but when I got the single disk in dash I never used the changer much.
