Audio Systems: No sound from radio, external amplifier, old radio

the radio that i pulled out of this car works fine, but i replaced it with a radio with a cd player, but the radio now has no sound, when i replaced the old radio back inot the car the radio works fine...so i dont think the antenna has anything to do with it

Do both stereos have all of the same size and number of connectors on the rear of them? It's possible that the CD stereo is a premium stereo that requires an external amplifier to operate. If possible can you give the complete model numbers off both stereos.
