Audio Systems: 94 Ford Explorer audio system, auto salvage yard, wire harnesses

Question
Hello Tom, I bought a used 94 Ford Explorer.  I want to install my aftermarket cd player, but when I pulled the factory radio out... The wire harnesses were cut!  I think it is the premium audio system, because it has a large gray cable to the left, which contains several wires.  One of these wires is silver and isn't coated, (other than the gray cable cable itself).  I am wondering if you have any suggestions on the easiest way of fixing this problem (and most cost efficient)  Any input is greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Shane.

Answer
Shane,
By far the best and maybe the easiest way to correct the cut wiring harness would be to find the same make and model year of vehicle in an auto salvage yard and cut out the factory connectors. next, all you have to do is to slpice the wires back together color for color. If you are installing an after market stereo and you have the wire print out from your local ford dealer, all you will have to do is to splice the wires from the new stereo onto the factory wires in the correct way following the print out for what each wire goes to.
