Audio Systems: 1994 Ford Escort Dash lights, dash lights, factory radio

I just added a cd player into my car. Ever since then, my dash lights have never worked right, and now they don't even come on when i turn my lights on. Everything in my cd player is hooked up right, the dash lights still don't work though.  I could really use some help .

Removing a factory radio won't effect the dash lights. If you installed an aftermarket CD stereo and cut the factory connector off or used an adapter connector, the only two 12 volt supply lines that you need are one wire 12 hot at all times and one 12 volt switched with the key on. Use a 12 volt test lamp to locate these two 12 power feeds for your stereo, all other 12 volt lines you should tape up the wires so that they do not short together.
