Audio Systems: Radio theft deterrent, theft deterrent system, pontiac grand prix

Question
I recently bought a used 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has a theft deterrent system, which apparently affects playing the radio/cd player. I had a battery cable coome loose, causing a loss of power in the car. Now, my radio is locked out, and I have no idea what my "code" is. My owners manual says to contact the dealer, but I am wondering if there is a quicker, easier fix for this problem. Thanks for your help.

Answer
Tom,
You may want to contact your local dealer so that they can look up the access code for your stereo, you may also want to try  www.radio-code.com  either way it's going to cost you, sorry theres no other way of getting around the access code for the stereo. In a few weeks I will have the ability to give access codes for most car stereos.
