Audio Systems: Honda Stereo problem, factory cd, honda accord

Question
I have a 1997 Honda Accord with the factory cassette in the dash and the factory cd changer in the trunk.  I believe that in 1997, this was the best Honda system available.  I have 2 problems,  1. Sometimes when I play the cd, The volume won't come up.  I can hear it but even when you turn it up all the way, you still can barely hear it.  Sometimes it works fine.   2.  The passenger side rear speaker wont play.  This system has never had a wrench put on it.  My thinking on the 2nd problem is that there may be a burnt out channel on the factory amp.  Have ya'll heard of any similar problems?

Answer
Sonny,
The CD problem may be due to defective connections at the plug that is plugged into the CD changer. You may also find defective connections on the pins of the amp for that channel or the amp may be faulty, the speaker may also be defective. In many stereos that I repair I find that the most common fault is due to defective connections at the connectors or defective solder connections on the circuit boards.
