Subaru Repair: Oil comsumption and cylinder misfire, cylinder misfire, impreza wrx

Question
I have a 2001 impreza WRX, last week the check engine lite came up with P0302 Code (Cylinder #2 misfire) then I notice that when I turn on the engine I hae some smoke from the tail pipe. Then I open the oil cap at the engine and exhaust fog came out from there. With a closer check I notice that some fog came out from the turbo... What could be wrong?

Answer
If the vehicle has a cylinder misfire, than you can and will get smoke out of the tail pipe and in some cases have excess gasses in the crankcase as well(this would explain the fog when you removed the gas cap).  A  P0302 cylinder misfire means that the computer has recognized that the engine isn't performing properly and it has pinpointed cylinder # 2 as the cause.  Start with having the misfire corrected and it may be the smoking situation is related  to the misfire anyway.  Now having said all of that, two things to remember a cylinder misfire can be caused by many things including mechanical engine problems and second a misfire related to a faulty fuel injector or spark plug that is let go too long can cause mechanical engine problems.
