Audio Systems: car stereo dial, stereo dial, drive cable

Factory installed '90 Honda stereo, radio is always "on", the antenna comes up as soon as I start the car. The knob just spins around, can be pulled off easily, & the end metal piece has a U shape (with level top).  Also the antenna makes a grinding noise when going up and down.  Thanks for your assistance!

Most likely the on/off switch is shorted and will need to be replaced. The cause of the antenna problem is due to a worn plastic drive cable/assembly, a little lub might do the trick and stop the grinding noise, if not the antenna will need to be replaced.
