Towing Issues: Name not on registration, notory, towing company

my Name is not on the registration of the car.the towing company asked for a notorized letter but my friend is out of the country and the only thing available is e-mail and fax he emailed me took copy of email and the fax but they want it notorized. out of country notory do not want to sign because it will be a out of country letter. help

Have you tried a power of attorney? It sounds as the vehicle is still registered or owned by your friend outside the country. Your friend outside the country can give you a power of attorney for the vehicle release. Of course all the towing and storage must be paid and must state exactly what and who will retrieve the vehicle. If your friend is in the US military a notarized letter and power of attorney are quite simple to obtain. Most major banks and passport faculties outside the US are able to provide power of attorney services.
