Audio Systems: 1992 volvo 740 turbo code for stereo doesnt work, volvo dealer, volvo 740

I have the code from a volvo dealer for 1992 volov turbo 740 wagon, i put in the code when promted and when i put in the four digit number the dealer gave me, the screen goes back to three backwards eee. is there a button i need to press to enter the code? what can i do? any help would be appreciated. thanks. on the face of the stereo reads the cr-718, it is also a reconditioned stereo from volvo....

Unless the dealer pulled out your stereo to ran the model number and serial number for the correct codes, this may be why you cannot make the stereo work. If you pull out the stereo, you may find the access code written on the case of the reconditioned stereo. If you have the owners manual for your vehicle, look over the section for entering the code.
