Audio Systems: Ford stereo, ford stereo, radio face

Question
I have a 1994 Ford Aspire with the original stereo (am not sure of model #).  The cassette was jammed in the stereo and eject didn't do anything at all.  I took the stereo out and took it apart to get the cassette out.  The ejecting coil had snapped so I put a new one in.  The stereo was still stuck in play mode and made a horrible buzzing noise (the cassette wouldn't play, but the gears kept turning).  I thought the problem was the motor, but that didn't seem to be the issue at all. Now the radio face says "play", but no sound comes out nor do the gears turn at this point.  I am usually very good with fixing radios (i've just never done a car stereo before).  Any idea what the problem is?

Answer
Mary,
Please give me the complete model number of the stereo, I can look over the repair manual for the tape deck to figure out what may be the problem. Please contact me direct with the model number.
