Audio Systems: Ford factory installed stereo, portable cd player, antenna input

Question
I have a 1995 Explorer with the factory installed cassette stereo.  I bought a portable cd player with a car adapter kit and my cassette player keeps trying to reverse sides on the adapter tape and then just ejects it.  I think the problem is with the auto reverse.  Is there a way to turn this off on the cassette player or what can I do?

Answer
Annette,
Try playing a music tape and see if it plays OK, if it does the problem may be due to the type of cassette adapter that you are using. It may not work with your tape player. There is no way to turn off the auto reverse mode. You may want to take a look at the RF modulator adapters that you connect between the antenna input on your stereo. Try stopping by BestBuy and ask if they sell either a tape adapter that can be used in an auto reverse tape deck or the RF modulator units.
