Audio Systems: 97 gmc sonoma instal problems, blowing the fuses, gmc sonoma

Question
I just instaled a cd player in my 97 gmc sonoma truck, the radio.cd player works fine but for some reason the hazzard lights, turn signal light.abd brake lights keep blowing the fuses. The unit is a jenson brand stereo and i used a factory harness kit-everything is hooked up correctly, we used spade type crimp conectors-and wraped them with electrical tape. I pulled the radio out and it doesnt blow fuses the factory radio had another pigtail pluged in to the wiring harness-but the intsal harness doesnt have any guts in that part of it-theres no place to put the orange dimmer or dashlight wire-so we taped them up. I have no clue on what could be causing this. The extra pigtail on the factory plug has 1 green wire with a white stripe.
Thanks for any help,
Steven
ps: my friend who helped me install the player-installed one is he 96 truck-wich is the same as mine except his is a chevy-he had no problems-they are the same truck .

Answer
Steven,
When you pulled the stereo out and fuses don't blow, it should tell you that something in the way the wires are connected are wrong. The only two power wires that should be connected to the Jensen stereo are as follows. 1-12 volt hot at all times ( yellow wire on Jensen), 2-12 volt switched (red wire on Jensen)with the key on. make sure that the taped up wires aren't shorting together.
