Audio Systems: Bose radio in Maxima shuts off when car has been in the sun, nissan maxima, sitting in the sun

I drive a 1996 Nissan Maxima (not sure the model but it has a spoiler). When the car is hot from sitting in the sun the radio will not function. "AUX" flashes on the display and then the radio shuts off. Under the same conditions but with the lights on, the radio is more likely to work. The CD works fine. For some reason the tape player portion of the deck fried itself a couple of years ago. Not sure if that could be at all related. Any thoughts?

Most likely the problem is due to a heat related fault. Possibly some part in the power supply section over heats and the power section will shut down. Please give me the complete model number of the stereo.
