Audio Systems: P-EO error code when inserting CD, time tom, fm radio

Question
Ok, I tried with a cd cleaner (it is a regular cd with little brushes), but it didn't work. Should I try to open the stereo and check the lens, or would loose my time by doing that?

I've bought a used 97 Integra GS. The cd player doesn't work (only the AM/FM radio works). It rights P-EO.

The problem is due to a faulty laser pick up assembly. It may need a good manual cleaning or it has simply failed.

If you can remove the top cover and then load the cleaning CD, try to see if the cleaner disc is spinning. If the cleaner is spinning the laser may be defective, if the cleaner will not spin even 1 or 2 turns, the lens may need to be cleaned by hand.
