Audio Systems: car stero, model music, ford escort

hi,

i bought an used ford escort 1999 model. music system is good. but, i am unable to see the display on it when ever i turn on the head lights. if this is the condition then how can i see whats there on the display..? my question is.. is this normal..? or is my stero having trouble.?

 no thats not normal if adjusting your dimmer switch doesnt affect the back light then your LCD is burned out, there is no easy fix for this and really only 2 options , live with it until something more serious goes wrong or buy a replacement usually aftermarket will fit into a budget and easy to install .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
