Audio Systems: radio in my Buick Riviera, buick riviera, buick dealer

Question
Recently, my radio appears to lose the signal and goes silent.  When I tap the on/off volume control, the signal comes back.  It appears to be a dirty wiper on the pot that causes intermittent signals.  I tried spraying it whit contact cleaner without removing the radio from its mount, but that made no difference.  My question is how can I remove the radio and repair or replace this component?

Answer
T,
You may want to contact your local buick dealer and ask if they will print out the radio removal instructions for your vehicle. If they won't do this your can purchase a Chiltons book for this vehicle and this book will show you how to remove the stereo. After you have the stereo out of the dash you will need to take off the top cover and spray the contact cleaner directly into the pot to clean the contacts.
