Audio Systems: Kicker XS50 problem again, ground loop isolator, rca cables

Question
I did that today, he heard it and wasnt sure, ran ohm test on the speaker wire and i have one or two subs not hooked up right, but the amp is still going into protection mode the second the rca's are connected, I also noticed that when i touched the rca with my finger it went straight into protection mode also. He is looking at the amp right now for me and seeing what he can do (he's probably running outta options) he resoldered a few wires and it still is doing it. So any other help might be nice (ground look maybe?) Thanks again

hey tom its me again. Took the amp into repair again. Got it back and hooked it up. Well for some reason now the amp, the second ANY bass wants to come through the speakers (turn the radio up JUST enough) it will go into a NASTY sounding mode, like wires are touching constantly through the speakers. I am pretty sure that if i unhooked the rca's it still fed the signal through the speakers. Not sure if you know whats up but im taking it back to the repair shop tomorrow but maybe you could lend a helping thought here and inform me as to whats going on. Thanks again Tom.

Andrew,
The problem may be due to a faulty power or ground connection. You might want to take your vehicle with the amp hooked up and let the repair shop hear what the amp/speakers are doing.

Answer
Andrew,
If the RCA cables are plugged into the amp and if the gain is turned up way too high, the amp will go into over load/protect. Try turning down to amp gain to about half way and also connect a ground loop isolator in the RCA cable lines.
