Audio Systems: 1994 Buick Century stereo, car stereos, buick century

Question
I own a 1994 Buick Century.  I currently have just a factory installed AM/FM/cassette player.  I know absolutely nothing about car stereos and I was wondering if it is possible to replace my existing factory car stereo with a new CD player?  If so, how difficult is it?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Stephanie,
If you are planning on replacing the factory stereo with an aftermarket stereo such as Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC ect, you will need the following items. 1-a plastic adapter for your dash cutout. 2-the wiring harness adapter that connects to the factory connector. A single DIN CD stereo will most likely be what you will need for this vehicle. The wiring adapter will be marked with what each wire is used for and all you need to do is to connect the speaker wires and the power/ground wires from the new stereo to the adapter wires. after you have the wires connected you simply insert the new stereo into the sleeve that you fastened into the plastic dash adapter as per the enclosed instructions.
