Audio Systems: 2002 Xterra Factory AM/FM CD Changer, nissan xterra, fuse block

Question
Hi,

I own a 2002 Nissan Xterra with a factory AM/FM 6 disc in dash cd changer.  Everything worked fine until a few weeks ago when the radio/player went off for a few minutes and then came back on.  Several days later it did the same thing but would not come back on until the vehicle was restarted.  I ejected all the cd's and used the radio for only a day.  And know it went off complete and has not come back on yet.  Is the radio/player toast?  Or is there something else going on with the radio/player?

Answer
Brian,

it sounds like a wire problem or loose connection .. which is on the lowest side of the spectrum.. pull the unit out and check your harness plug and wiring make sure nothing is loose or cut/frayed ect.. also go to your fuse block and pull each and every fuse and check for blows ...then i would clean and check your battery terminals and wire feeds ... after all of this if the problem is still present you need to get it into the shop .. it might be covered under warranty so check there first but if not i would suggest a good local shop because they are usually easier on the wallet .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
