I HAVE A 2001 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE IT HAS A FACTORY IN DASH 4-CD PLAYER/TAPE/RADIO.
I FOUND OUT AFTER MY STEREO WASN'T WORKING THAT IT WAS A REFURBISHED STEREO.  MY PROBLEM IS THE RIBBON CABLE FROM THE MAIN RADIO TO THE CD PLAYER IS BROKEN, I BELIEVE IT GIVES POWER TO THE CD PLAYER, AND THE SOUND.  I THINK IT IS THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR STEREO.  MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I GET THIS PART? WHO SHOULD I CALL? HOW MUCH IS IT? I AM AT THE END OF MY ROPE COULD YOU HELP PLEASE.  THANK YOU    STEVE.....

Answer
Steve,

no problem first try radio shack / circuit city / best buy ect.. or some local stereo shops that do car audio .. they should be able to look up the cable/harness and order you a new one .. if for some reason they cant you should contact your mitsu dealer tell them what you need .. now to save your self a bill for having them look at it to get the part numbers ect.. i would advise investing in a haynes repair manual which you can pick up at your local auto parts store for around 12 bucks this will tell you the "proper name" for the cable/harness so you can go to your dealer and tell them what to order ... now the cost can be anywhere from 10-100 bucks because its a factory part stuff can really run to heaven but in this case i would say expect around 20 dollars give or take ... hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
