Audio Systems: poor am radio reception, dodge ram1500, antenna cable

Question
I have a 1997 dodge ram1500 with a am fm factory radio. The fm plays fine but on am i get a bad humming sound and squeal. any help would be appreciated.

 it could be a problem in the tuner as most problems with reception are either an antenna problem or in the tuner.. i would also suggest trying an antenna booster to help draw in more signal, and also giving a good visual inspection to your antenna cable .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
