Audio Systems: Honda Civic Radio/CD has problems, antenna connections, antenna wire

1999 Honda Civic, CD/radio.

Almost from the begininning, the radio reception only brings in two stations on FM and a few more on AM.  Antennea is extended all the way, but no luck.  Now, the CD player does not recognize any CD's.  Any fix options without removing the unit?  How do I remove the unit from the dash?

The fastest way to test the antenna connections is to purchase a cheap antenna from WalMart and pull out the existing antenna wire from the stereo and insert the test antenna. To remove the stereo you will need to remove the trim around the stereo and depending on the stereo model you will need to release it using the two flat release clips. As for the CD section, the problem may be that the laser lense needs cleaning.
