Audio Systems: Radio Remov/Install in 93 Civic, sony cdx, cigarette lighter

Question
I am trying to remove an aftermarket really old Sony cassette and radio player that someone put in this car a long time ago. How do i remove this non-factory installed radio. I unscrewed the center panel under the radio where the cigarette lighter and change bin are and i unscrewed the two screws under the radio but it won't budge. It feels as if there are screws in the front behind the dash or i have to remove the dash or something? i have no clue. Also i am then trying to install a sony cdx-l550x unit in there. Is there a place where i can get a wiring diagram? or an install guide. The radio looks as if it will fit the slot where the radio is now perfectly. i don't think i need an install kit as there may be one in there already. Thanks alot! How do i remove it.

Answer
Paul,

ok first thing is i dont have any import books so i cant help you directly with the removal, but i do have a number that you can call and they can give you the full instructions, it is for the makers of the dash kit SCOSCHE which is more than likly installed in there , give them a call tell them you installed the unit sometime ago and lost your instruction booklet and you need to remove it now they should help you out .. 1800-621-3695 ext3 .. now about your new unit .. unless the people that installed the old cass. deck didnt use a wire harness adapter you should be able to re-use it *which a wire harness adapter is the BEST way to install* .. now if they cut off the factory plug no need to fear www.streetdreams.com/wires should have a color code guide to help you with the install .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
