Audio Systems: Backlit LCD is Out, kenwood kdc, vacuum tube

My Kenwood KDC-5019's backlit LCD went out.  The whole player is dark, including the buttons and the main screen.  However, it still plays and functions normally, other than the LCD.  The motorized faceplate still functions properly.  I have checked all the wires and all my solders and connections are good.  I have never had any problems with this head unit and I'm not running any accessories off of it (ie Amplifiers, Satellite Radio, Cd Changer, etc.).  Is there any way I can fix this.  Rob

One of two main causes of the no display is as follows. 1,the very small lamps that back light the LCD display have burned out.  2,If this display is a vacuum tube type display, the power supply for lighting up the display is faulty.
