Audio Systems: alpine 7893 aftermarket h/u bustes, alpine cda 7893, alpine 7893

I have an alpine cda 7893 h/u in my car. recently the h/u wont take in any cd. also the face of the cd player wont go back up when i push the close button. i opened it up to see what was wrong and there was a loose spring just laying on the circuit board. i tried looking to see where the spring goes but i have no clue. i know it has to do with pulling in the cd. the other thing is that something messed up and now the faceplate of the unit is always open. it wont close and it just keeps saying load, eject, load, eject and then error and when i push the close button it repeats the process. if u can help it would greatly be appreciated.

I won't be back to my shop until Tuesday afternoon, I will look then to see if I have the service manual for your Alpine unit. If I do I will give you some ideas where a spring my have popped off of. If the spring was in contact with the circuit board it may have shorted something out and that may be why the front panel won't close.
