Car Alarms: EVS 2 alarm system, flip switch, 2001 dodge 1500

Question
I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 truck with EVS 2 alarm system. The problem is I replaced the battery and now the alarm activates (arms)itself approximately 1 minute after ignition key is pulled out. There is a push button mounted on the side near the hood release. I don't want the alarm to activate itself, how can I override this.
Some years ago I had the same issue, as far as I remember I would just press the push button hidden on the side and it would only activate the alarm when I pushed the lock key on my key chain. This does not seem to work anymore.

Any suggestions how I can fix this issue or what the procedure is for deactivating the automatic arming setting.

Thank you for all your input,
Mike

Answer
Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.
KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
