Audio Systems: Car stereo install, single cd player, pin male plug

Question
I'm trying to install a DEH 245 pioneer single CD player in my car. It came without a wiring harness...I could jury-rig my own if I could find out what each pin on the back of the unit is for..it's a 12 pin male plug double stacked...any help would be appreciated. An aftermarket wiring harness costs like 35$ and I only paid $20 for the stereo. Thanks

Answer
Jeff,

check with radio shack and wal-mart to make sure you cant pick one up for around 10-12 its usually pretty rare for one to cost over 12 bucks so give it a double check before you start hacking away .. now if you cant get one for a decent price .. check out www.streetdreams.com/wires this will give you the color code information for each wire .. if you can find a female plug that will fit back you can make your own .. but most of the time when it comes down to this you have to cut the factory plug off .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
