Audio Systems: Bose car radio, mazda millinia, photo transistor

my CD player in my Bose stereo system will not take a CD.  it will not pull the CD in to the player.  i had a CD broke off in it so i took it apart and took the CD out but now it will not take a cd.  my Bose SYstem came factory in my 1998 mazda millinia.

Without a model number I can't tell you what the cause of the no load problem could be, however on many CD players the load function is activated by a photo transistor setup. When you insert a CD it breaks the light beam between the LED and the photo transistor. When you took the unit apart you may have seen a fragile ribbon cable connecting the top of the CD deck to the bottom half. Check this cable to be sure that you didn't tear it. If the cable is OK make sure that it and others are fully plugged in and look for any more small pieces of the broken CD inside the CD deck.
