Audio Systems: Lincoln Radio doesnt work, lincoln town car, lincoln radio

This is the sound system on a 1991 Lincoln Town car from Ford.  It worked fine until yesterday morning and it became nonresponsive.  It shows on a station, the antenna comes up, but there's no sound and you can't change bands, stations, seek or tune.  Should I just junk it?

The problem with many of these radios is that the contacts on the front panel assembly can short out and make the radio lock up. The solution to this problem is to replace the front panel bezel.  The last time I replaced one about 3 months ago, the cost for it was about $85.
