Audio Systems: Pioneer DEHP9000R OEL Display problem, occassionally, many thanks

Hi Tom

I own the above stereo and the OEL display has gone wrong.  The far right hand side occassionally goes really bright compared to the rest of the display.  About 1/4 of the display goes really bright but, when I tap it it goes back to normal

Any ideas?

When you mentioned that if you tap on the display, I would say that the display has several defective solder connections on the pins of the display assembly. If you take the display apart and use an X10 magnifier to look at the pins of the display I'm sure thats where the problem is located.
