Audio Systems: Discounected antenna wire, chevy caprice, antenna wire

Question
I bought a 94 chevy caprice with no am/fm sound, only static. When I tried to replace the radio I found the problem to be the antenna not the radio. There is a discounted wire between the outside door jam and the inner fender. I can see both discounected wires from under the car but can only put one hand in. I cannot put those wires together. I had a universal extension and a mini GM post 1988 mini extension but these do not connect. I wound be able to connect an extension one at a time using one hand. Do you know what type of connection would fit or how I can fix this problem, without  taking the fender off?  THANK YOU      SOL

Answer
Hello Sol,
The best way is to replace the complete antenna with a good after market antenna or remove the antenna from the fender from the top. after you remove the antenna you can use a coat hanger with a small loop bent in it to grab the antenna wire in the fender and pull it out. Once you have the antenna wire you may be able to reconnect it to the antenna and reinsert the antenna back into the fender. Do you see a connection that is apart or is the antenna wire cut or broken?
