I have just installed a new cd player in my Toyota Corolla Seca RV 1996 model, previously it had a cassette player.
After about 2 hours of fitting it nicely and 3 hours trying to connect up the wiring I finally got the cd player in a working state. I have connected up the red wire from the cd player (+12V Accessory/switched) to the wire for the demisters, all the other wires are connected to the existing radio wires. I now have two non active wires left that didn't seem to affect anything but now when I turn on the head lights the dash lights don't work and when the car is just switched to 'on' the radio doesn't turn on until I start the car. My main concern is the dash lights the fact that the radio doesn't turn on when the car is just 'on' doesn't matter so much.

  ok here is a site to help double check your wiring , i hope you used a wire harness adapter but it sounds like you didnt so eitherway the site should have something to help you out .. www.streetdreams.com/wires/ ok now for the lights .. go to your fuse block and pull out each and every fuse one at a time .. check ALL fuses not just the radio related ones .. this is where you should find your problem if its not in the wiring .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
