Audio Systems: CD Player Inquiry, kenwood kdc, gain controls

Question
I had an older car with a Kenwood KDC-S3009 which had one rca pre-out and I had it set up where the bass was all the way down and I'd still got a ton of bass from my box but I updated to the Kenwood KDC-MP625 and I'm not sure how to get it back that way. What's happening now is when I lower the bass on the new deck it affects the subs as well. To get bass from my box I'm having to put the bass level higher and I don't want that cuz I'm afraid I'll blow out my regular car speakers. Do you know why this is happening? Thanks.

Answer
Marcos,

the only thing i can figure is your older unit has a special preout just for subwoofers which allowed a seperate control for bass tuning functions that didnt affect your other speakers .. unless your new unit has a similer preout for subwoofers .. about all you can do is adjust the bass to a comfortable level for the regular speakers then adjust your amp's crossover/bass boost/ and gain controls to give you the bass you want from the subs .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
