Audio Systems: radio/clock, electronic repair shops, cindy cindy

Question
My clock/radio started to fade out so I couldn't see  the numbers and now it's gone completely.
I never know what time it is or what station I'm listening to. I have a 1997 Pontiac Gran Am

 your LCD screen has gone out .. i dont know of any cheap/quick fix for this problem, most of the time its live with the display until something more serious goes wrong or replace the unit with a new aftermarket or GM replacement .. before you dive into a new unit , try a few local small electronic repair shops to see if they can repair LCD displays in radios , some can and some cant .. hope this helps you out sorry i couldnt do more but if you need anything else let me know
