Audio Systems: installing aftermarket deck problem!!, pioneer cd player, antenna wire

Question
hi tom
i have an older model pioneer cd player 35Wx4,ive had this cd player in my 1991 plymouth laser and it works fine i had no problem installing it into that car.But recently ive baught a 1991 dodge ram50 and ive been trying to put this deck into it for the last two days!!! im stumped?
ill get a little more into the details now>i have to hard wire it because when i baught it used and  the wires were cut so i cut the wires from the stock tape player in the truck,it doesnt seem to be grounded with the antenna wire? and i cant find a constent power wire from the stock wireing of the truck?in the back of the pioneer cd player there an orange wire with battery marked on it and it has a fuse along it? and a red wire marked AC?
theres one wire from the stock thats blue with a white stripe,if i hook the Ac and the battery orange wire to it then hook the green wire from the cd player to a green wire with a white stripe on it from the stock i get power to the cd player? then i hook up a red wire with a black stripe on it to it and the car clock comes on but when i shut the car off everything goes of includeing the clock which resets everytime?and ive tried every combination with the speaker wires but i dont get any sound from them when a cd's playing?there is a black wire with a yellow stripe on it that if i touch the blue wire with the white stripe and it together it sparks and the cd player shuts off?the stock stereo worked fine before and the clock never reseted so i must be doing sumthing drastically wrong? it only to me 20 mins to hook it up in the other car but this has me going nuts hahah..
so if you could stear me in the right direction it would save me from go insane thinking about it !!any help would be great thanks!!

Answer
Hello Stephen,
Relax, try this. The red wire goes to a switched source from the ignition. the yellow wire goes to the battery, hot at all times. You will need a test lamp or a volt meter to find these wires in the wires that were cut. Do not connect wires by trial and error or you will burn up something inside the CD player!! To locate the speaker wires in the harness that was cut, you will need to remove/look at each speaker in the truck and write down the colors of the wires on the speakers. These wire colors will be the same in the cut harness. You can also try contacting your local Dodge dealer to see if they will give you a print out of the wires for the factory wiring harness that was cut off. If the dealer won't give you info you can purchase a repair book for this truck and this book will tell you the wiring for the stereo.
