Audio Systems: volume level noise, volt supply lines, factory speakers

Hi,i installed a kenwood kdc x815 radio in my car,95 lumina using the factory speakers,the problem is when i turn the volume up [radio has a volume level of 1-35]27 and up i get a grrrrrrr noise? please advise.

Hello Phillip,
The problem may be related to the 12 volt supply lines. On many factory stereo systems the wiring to the stereos are just large enough to supply power to the stereo. If you install a high powered system you will need to run larger 12 supply lines for the new stereo. As for the noise you may want to double check your speaker wiring to be sure that you didn't cross any the the speaker feed and return lines.
