Hi,

I have had this unit for the past 1 year. 2 days back I turned the car on. Popped in the cd, the cd played but I could not hear any sound. I tried playing the radio but the same thing no sound. It cannot be a blown fuse as the stereo powers up. What could it be? Let me know. Thank you

Other than the amp section being blown requiring costly repair, you might have a 'reset' problem. Look in owner's book to see if they have a reset procedure to try before taking unit in for service/replacement. Hope this helps......G

Answer
Sorry, only thing I can think of is to call Pioneer's toll free number, (call 1-800-555-1212 for tollfree directory assistance) and ask them if there is an 'all clear' or 'reset' procedure you can do. Of course, I take it for granted you have unit wired correctly and speakers and speaker wiring are intact, good, and not hooked up to any other equipment.(some original equip.stereos have an amp in line w/speakers somewhere) You can check individual speaker wiring by disconnecting wire at stereo, hook up 1.5 volt battery to speaker wire and check for cone movement.(you want cone to move outwards when positive wire of speaker is connected to positive terminal of 1.5volt battery, if moves in, reverse wires) I do not have access to wiring diagrams for that model, so I cannot help there......G
