Audio Systems: amplifier, duty alternator, volume levels

Question
-------------------------
when i turn my system up and drive around for a while i notice that my car runs hot. i think it is because i am getting a retarted spark or not strong enough spark.  what could i do to provide more spark, if thats the problem.  is this my problem.

         thanks, mike

Answer
Mike,
If you are running several high powered amps at the same time, your alternator may be way over loaded and this is putting a heavy load on the engine making it run hotter? To correct this problem you will need to have installed a heavy duty alternator and possibly one more battery to pick up the slack when playing your stereo at higher volume levels.
