Towing Issues: I Took My Car Back, staging area, mile radius

Question
I was parked illegally and they towed and hid my car a few blocks away. They moved it to a private office parking lot that they don't own. I found the car and took it. The tow truck guy saw me a week later and said to pay the bill or he's going to press charges. I said no. Is it legal for them to hide my car this way?

Basic information on this board says that I need the city and state to answer questions...

But seeing as how you have taken the vehicle back after it was towed (even to a "STAGING AREA") which in some places is legal and some its illegal I really can not answer this question fully and most likely to your satisfaction...

But remember that it can be theft of services or grand theft auto against you (again depending on the laws where you are)

Sorry but I know this will result in poor or bad feed back against me, but I am not a mind reader and my crystal bass is a bit foggy on figuring out where it happened...
