Audio Systems: car radio casette problem, fuse one, radio cassette player

Question
my car radio casstte player from Peugeot 206 has just stop working properly with no sound and the display does not switch off even when the on/off button is pressed.
I removed the fuse and plugged it back again. The radio/cassette player worked with sound but required a security code everytime I switched on the engine and doesn't work when the engine is not switched on.
Is this just a fuse problem that require replacement?

Answer
Simon,

i'm not very familer with peugeots but go to your fuse block and pull out each and every fuse one at a time and check for blows check ALL fuses not just stereo related fuses .. i think you should find your problem here but you spoke of a security code .. this happens when the unit loses power you might look in your owners manual on the radio section most units are programmed with a generic code like 123 ect.. try that first if that doesnt work you need to contact your dealer or customer service line to get an unlock code .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
