Audio Systems: Installing an aftermarket stereo in a 1991 Toyota Carina II, toyota carina ii, pig tail

Question
Hi
I've bought a CD/RDS radio with ISO connectors to install in my
Toyota Carina II 2,0 XLi. It is fitted with a Toyota 2100 factory
radio w. cassette. My question - which I hope you'll be able to
answer - is: Do I need any special equipment/adapters for this?

Your help is very much appreciated.

Your Sebastian

Answer
Hello Sebastian,
Unless the after market stereo was made specifically to plug directly into the factory harness in your car you will need an adapter. You may be able to find an adapter at any good car stereo shop or perhaps on the internet(WWW). If the new stereo will not hook up to your factory harness/plug you will need to locate either the adapter if available or a pig tail adapter to connect the wires from your new radio to the factory harness.
