Audio Systems: 2002 Alero Stereo, olds alero, fuse block

Question
I have a 2002 Olds Alero with the factory installed six speaker stereo w/CD/Cassette player.  I drove the car yesterday morning and the radio worked fine.  When I started it later in the afternoon, I had no volume out of any of the speakers.  I have power to the stereo and display, just no sound.

When I accelerate, I hear a noise from the speakers (kind of sounds like a dentist drill that speeds up as I accelerate).  When I put on the brakes, there is a clicking sound from the speakers.

I'm not sure if there is only something wrong with the stereo system or if there is an electrical problem witht he vehicle.

Thanks for your help!!

Answer
Jill,

well sad to say your going to have to take it to a stereo shop to look at .. if it was just a humm in the speakers but you had sound i could recommend some parts to wire in that filter distortion but this seems like a serious harness/wiring problem maybe cause by melted , unisulated wires .. or it still could be something simple like a blown fuse or if the system has a factory installed amplifier that could have shorted out and giving feedback through the system.. but the only thing i will tell you to check on your own is your fuse block .. pull each fuse out one at a time and check EVERY fuse not just stereo fuses and replace any blows... but this really needs to have a tech sit down with a meter and test light and check out what went wrong .. hope this helps you out sorry i couldnt do more but if you need anything else let me know

thanks
