Audio Systems: wiring problem, olds cutlass ciera, 1986 olds cutlass

Question
I have a 1986 Olds Cutlass Ciera.  I recently received a new cd player that is an inexpensive aftermarket brand.  I purchased a wiring harness but the one for the original stereo had 13 pins instead of 12. There was also a brown wire separate from the harness plugged into the back of the original which I am guessing was for memory.  I ended up finding a wiring diagram online so I was able to splice the wires in and once I reconnected the battery it powered up.  Then when I turned it off and went to turn it on to test the cd player, it didn't work, and now none of my 12V Acc works at all. No interior lights, no cigarette lighter or anything.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Jim,

you more than likly popped some fuses .. go to your fuse block and check EVERY fuse not just the ones related to the lights and cd player pull all of them out one at a time and check for blows and replace as needed .. i'm pretty confident this is where the problem will be but i would go back over all of my wiring and make sure you have everything spliced nice and tight with nothing rubbing together and each splice wrapped good with electric tape .. if you need anything else let me know

thanks
